Happy Monday Folks!

This week saw the really sad announcement of the death of drumming legend, Neil Peart from Rush. Our thoughts go out to his friends and loved ones. He was one of the most influential and inspirational musicians of our time and his legacy reaches far wider than the Prog Community and out into the world of rock generally.

Ask any of the best drummers around at the moment; the likes of Mike Portnoy, Gavin Harrison, and Danny Carey who was one of their greatest inspirations and you’ll get the same answer.

He’ll be missed.

The announcement came too late for the show broadcast on 103 The Eye on Saturday so there is no mention in the this week’s podcast. You can rest assured that there will be a full tribute in next week’s show.

As for this week, the show kicks off with a Soft Machine sequence, has tributes to David Bowie and Chris Squire, and ends with a Neal Morse “Alone/Together” feature amongst a whole host of other goodies.

Lots to enjoy!

Have a great week.

I'm a musician and presenter of the Doorway Rock Show on 103 The Eye and Progzilla Radio. My show takes listeners on a journey through the very best Progressive Rock. It's a blend of old and new; showing how the classic artists of the 1970s have influenced the very best contemporary artists. I'm also proud to providee a platform for those artists to get their work exposed to a wider audience.
