This week’s show features the incredible new album by Transatlantic, The Absolute Universe. Given the nature of these records (it does come in two versions!) its hard to pick individual tracks but I hope I have given you the essence of what is an essential listen for any prog fan.

There’s the usual mix of old and new with a real emphasis on virtuoso guitar playing, and some summer sunshine thrown in for good measure.

Today marks the 5 year anniversary of the death of David Bowie. To mark this auspicious anniversary, The Doorway reflects upon the musical legacy of this iconic artist. From Space Oddity to Blackstar the show follows his career through his ever changing characters and phases.

The world has not been quite the same since he left us but he left us a rich legacy to enjoy in his absence.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

I hope you all had a nice day. Here is the Boxing Day edition of the Doorway broadcast on 103 The Eye here in the UK. As it is the last show of 2020, I’ve taken the opportunity to review some of the great music released during the year. Despite everything, I think that the world of Progressive Rock is in pretty rude health!

The show ends with stunning tracks from my two personal favourite releases of 2020; ‘Weltzschmerz’ by Fish, and ‘Between a Breath and a Breath’ by Judy Dyble and David Longdon.
